i think that the 42 is better, but the 45 is a very good balisong

I am still an avid fan of heavier 45 handles though. QC is no question - no contest, but I like the looks of the 42 better.
It is weird whan I flip the 42.. I dont even have to move my wrists.

I am starting the think the tighter tolerances on the 42 are a great enhancement to operation. With the 45, the handle can yaw so far from the plane of rotation that the handles begin to bind.
The 42 seems to swing smooth and fast no matter how sloppy you get.

Steve, I have to say I thank you as you described what I've long wanted to say after I received my model 42 ..."tighter tolerance" and "the 45 yaw from the plane"!
acros, try a model 42! Better or worse if it will be than 45, its worth its cost.

the BM42 has tighter tolerances... heh? I think the lighter handles is what keeps it in plane is all. Ofcourse it is all a matter of preference. It is kind of convinient I guess to not have finger cramps after a long time of playing around

I LOVED my 45, but I always like the speed of my 30. Having the 42 is like the best of both worlds.
