Anyone knows when it hits the shelves ? Will we be able to purchase it from regular BM distributor ?

Lum design, Ti monolock, M4 blade steel, and perfect size for EDC, what more can a guy want ?

I kind of like the traditionalesque tanto thing going on in the M4 Lum.

But the existing Lum line is so dang pretty...that I think I prefer it.

Well, how about for gorgeous gal to walk up to you and give you the knife for free in exchange for you taking her to dinner?:D Hey, you asked it!;):p I must admit, that knife does look like a winner!

It needs to come in tip up... so I can wave it :D

looks sweet but way too bulky and heavy for me. does look like a great alternative to a an snf if thats what youre after

I'll probably buy one :(

Drill n tap tip up holes in non-locking slab. Grind off the swedge up to the thumb ramp. That should make room for a wave.

Problem solved ;)

It's the same knife that Benchmade made in limited number for Blackwater. Known as the Blackwater Tanto II folder. I guess Benchmade decided to continue to produce the line after the Blackwater contract ended.

I own the plain edge Blackwater version and they are super well made folders.

The blackwater IMHO has a better clip. This one seem like it will ride to high in the pocket. Maybe a drill and tap or a trip to STR would make it Ideal.

a common complaint on the blackwater version was that the pivot would bind on your pocket, as it was under the clip. they seem to have addressed that on this iteration

The knife is beautiful, but the blade looks really thick. I don't particularly like the looks of the Military, my EDC, but that long, pointy, full-flat-ground blade outcuts all the other more beautiful knives I've tried. Hard to get away from function, no matter how gorgeous the form.

I like everything about this knife except the clip placement, I did however order one anyways because the people in my head said to.

Why do lum knives always use liner locks?

I this one's a "monolock", which is BMs name for framelock, I think.

Here's the quote from their website:

"MONOLOCK The Monolock mechanism is basically a locking-liner on steroids. The knife liner is one in the same as the knife handle, and thus it is designed and made to function as the locking mechanism. Subsequently, a thicker material is used to provide enough surface area to be a functional handle, and in turn creates a larger surface area to lock the blade with. If executed properly, the Monolock rates very highly in strength and function."
