BM760 Lum --- WOW !!

It looks like it would be pretty easy to sharpen off that little tanto point.

I have the Blackwater versions and thought the original clip was OK. The pivot interference only had an affect when clipping to thicker material and, even then, the interference made the knife more secure.

Only issue I have is the thinness of the handle slabs, as they could be thicker to make the lock more stable. The lock flexes like the old 750 lock did (all of mine, anyway).

the benchmade clip is far better, it stops the lock from over extending when unlocking like a hinderer, the blackwater clip doesnt.

The knife is beautiful, but the blade looks really thick. I don't particularly like the looks of the Military, my EDC, but that long, pointy, full-flat-ground blade outcuts all the other more beautiful knives I've tried.
According to the BM and Spyderco websites:
  • BM760 = Blade Thickness: 0.150 in.
  • Military = Blade thickness 0.156 in.
So the Millie is actually thicker. ;)

I just ordered one.

The thickness is at the spine. It's nowhere near the millie as a slicing knife out of the box. It is well made and good materials. The edge will need to be thinned if it's like mine. Joe

Mine will need tip up and wave conversion :D

Don't even try to ruin this one, it's M4 which is like C-4 to your dremel, no way are you getting through this one. You'll just scratch the crap out of it.

Anyways that is one nice knife, I just looked at it today for the first time and dang it's fine. Wouldn't mind a more spear point blade but eh, it's close enough.

I've done some modding on my S60V Kershaw Boa. It definitely takes a lot longer than with something soft and squishy like 154CM, but it's not out of the question (you just have to be really patient).

Although S60V is a "super steel", it's in an entirely different category than the M-4 "TOOL STEEL"

I just ordered one as an early Father's day present. It will be going to Tom Krein for a serious regrind to not only thin it but to remove the tanto on it. I'm still debating between a hollow grind or full flat grind, but mine will definately lighten up the knife as a lot of steel will be going away. I love my Krein custom in M4, and when I look at this knife I could picture a nice blade with lots of belly and a much thinner overall grind for better cutting performance but still retaining some strength to the blade. I think I might just let Tom Krein do whatever he thinks will be best and trust his judgement.
