BM806 vs BM710 - Which is Better?

I have owned both and prefer the 710HS. I like the handle shape on the 710 better,, it is not as secure ina sber grip, but it is more comfortable in variety of positions. The 710 was ground a little thinner than the AFCK, and the knife carried lower in the pocket.

As well, I prefer M2 to D2, but in this cisrumstance I would not predict much of a difference.

I do like the hole opener of the AFCK better than studs.

I think my ranking of AXIS is like this: 710HS, 730CFHS, 806, then the stainless models. . .

At one time I thought the Axis AFCK was going to be the "ultimate folder"('course I'm still looking for that one), but when they finally came out, and I got one, I traded it. Liked my 710HS with its shorter handle, recurve, and stouter tip better.
I may try another 806, though. Normally I'm a tip-up fan, but the AFCK just felt WRONG, both in my pocket and in my hand with the tip-up clip(I carried a 800 for several years). The newer 806s allow for tip-down, and I'm ok with that on a hole opener, so maybe I'll check one out sometime.

As has been mentioned above, the 710 has a smaller handle and rides lower in the pocket.

806 has a much more secure grip.

Hole vs stud & M2 vs D2 are personal preference things.
I prefer studs and M2.

They're really both great knives.

If they made a 710hs blade with studs on an 806 handle that would be the perfect knife.

If there's a custom maker out there who can do this, email me.

i have a 806 and have had a few 710s, i like the 806 myself, dont like the looks of the TSEK myself, though its "ok" too.

While I definitely understand what people like about the TSEK, for me personally the TSEK does away with two of the best features of the 806: the hole opener, and the very sharp point. Obviously, some people like thumb studs better, and some like stronger, less sharp points better.

For me, the 806 AFCK's main disadvantage is the handle size: big enough to be uncomfortable for me (this is subjective: I have a buddy who has no such objection). The other disadvantage is a bit more niche-y: the AFCK doesn't run well in pakal, which I imagine most people aren't concerned with. That said, for utility use and forward-grip defensive use, I think the AFCK is the finest 4"-bladed folder made, as long as you can hack the handle size.

The 710 is easy and comfortable to carry, killer for utility use, and runs well in any grip for defensive use. Versus the 806, its disadvantages for defensive use IMO are the thumb stud, and the less-secure grip.

Of these, it's the 710 HS that I carry.

I have both an old AFCK in M2, and a 710 in M2. I really think the difference is insignificant in terms of performance, size, etc. I really think in comes down to feel.

I generally (they sid side by side in a dresser drawer) pick up the 710 without thinking about it. I think it is the AXIS lock and grip feel.
