Last month I lost what I though was a high end knife after taking it through the airport with me (cold steel recon tanto), and since then I've been devouring information on knives from here and other places. I found out recently the wife is prego, so I can't spend as much money as I'd like on 4 or 5 knives. So here is what I'm looking at...

I really like the light weight and blade style of the BM940. But I am hard on knives. borderline abusive. So is is strong enough, or should I go with the BM755 or ZT560 like I'm thinking. These are my priorities in a knife...

1. Under 6 ounces
2. Can take a lot of abuse without breaking.
3. S30v or better. +1 for Elmax, or ZDP-189, etc.
4.atleast 3.5in blade (I know the 755 doesn't meet this... but man it looks sexy)

I've also been looking at knives like HTM also, but they have an aluminum handle.Does that feel as good in your hand as G-10/3D machined Titanium?>

I'll assume you're talking blade strength since you won't be able to break the lock on either. One nice thing about the 940 is it has a rather strong tip for the class of knife it is. It holds its thickness pretty far down the blade. Here's a spine shot next to a 560 and another full length spine shot:

As you can see, the 560 is thicker at the tip and uses thicker blade stock, if you're simply looking for which is less likely to break, the 560 is the way to go. (I don't have an BM 755 to compare them to.)
