Ok
the entire 910 line is dead
the 710 is dead (well, re incarnated with D2 according to rumor)
the 690 is dead
the Nim is dead (well sorta re updated)
the 420 426 in uncoated serrated form is gone
921 and all variants are gone
the Ares is gone
mini-reflex is dying (down to uncoated plain edge),3550,4200S and 4200BK, 520S is cut (I think)
the wood 210 is gone
Grips may get 154CM upgrade

some is rumor some is true, I can't tell right now
This list is made possible by the BM board
I wonder what else is in store

Well, I don't remeber everything, but I can check when I get to work tomorrow, but this is how I know it:

The 710 is back in D2
The Nimravus is now available with an aluminum handle
The wood 210 is still around
The Griptillians are now 154CM and already shipping that way.

Maybe more news at SHOT show.

A 710 in s30v would have been nice, but maybe the D2 is the cheapest material out of 154cm, s30v, and M2?

No way D2 is cheaper than 154CM, especially considering their are now using 154CM in their Griptillians.

Benchmade just seems to have dropped M2. Can't understand why they dropped the 806D2 though.

I'm guessing we're going to see the AFCK reincarnated, maybe via a slight design change like the way the 705 gave rise to the 707. Maybe it will go S30V, maybe it will go to Aluminum handles. But of everything being dropped this year, the 806 is the one that will surprise me if it does not reappear in some form.

I have a 710HS in the mail, because I need more tool steel in my life.

I was figurin' the 910 would be reincarnated with a framelock, like the limited edition 910TI.

Personally, I'm still debating S30V's "superiority. IMHO M2 is better.

Looking back at the '96-'03 BM catalogs, there really has been major changes in their product line-up. First Bm's steel was all ATS-34 then they added more steels, then different classes, and a very noticable change from "Tactical" style knives to "Fancy" types of knives. Every so often they come up with something that I like very much. Can't wait to see the new models for this year. Long live Benchmade!:)

Are these still available? I'm looking for them.

556 in plain edge
705 in plain edge
mini Presidio in plain edge
Nimravus in plain edge with G10 handles

I was hoping for a 910 Axis lock, but a framelock would be awesome! In D2!

A 710D2? I feel a little better now. Hope it's true. Still wish they'd kept the M2 though.

Why does BM get rid of good knives? I don't understand.

Hmmm. Generally a company is not going to dump a knife that is selling well. After all, money is money and is the reason for being in business. None of us can tell what the situation is with BM since they are not going to share internal financial info with the public. (No company will)

That said, another reason may be that they have to allocate production facilities to other directions that they feel may be better for them in the
future.

All I can hope is that they will continue to keep producing the fine knives that they keep cranking out and keep us knifeknuts delighted for the forseeable future.

PS: I really hope they keep the 710. A D2 version would be welcome.:)

What's the scoop on the aluminum handle Nim? Is it textured aluminum handle? Any chance on a satin blade? Any changes to the sheath?
