Brand New in Original Box Benchmade 710 McHenry & Williams. The blade is made of black Poly-Ceramic coated D2 tool steel, hardened at 60-62 HRc, known for its edge holding ability. It features a modified clip point with an acute tip. It is 3.9" long and 0.115" thick. There is a swedge to aid in penetration. The total length is 8.80 when the blade is open. The coating of the blade protects the D2 steel from corrosion while at the same time it gives it a stealthy appearance. The combo edge is very sharp. Those serrations can go through the toughest fibrous material with ease. They are also easy to re-sharpen by using a Spyderco Sharpmaker. The blade opens by means of ambidextrous thumb stud opener. The knife uses a patented AXIS locking mechanism to secure the blade stays either open or, closed. AXIS locking mechanism is one of the strongest locking mechanisms as far as folding knives go. The knife weighs 4.5 oz.
The handle is made of black G-10 handle scales with full length skeletonized stainless steel liners and a reversible steel pocket clip. There is expertly made jimping right behind the blade on the back of the handle to aid in thumb placement, as well as, on the lower part of the handle to secure the user's digit, while it helps greatly in the knife's maneuverability. A lanyard hole at the bottom of the handle offers the option to attach a thong for even greater knife retention.
In the closed position the handle can serve as a yawara stick.
