i do believe that the really early boas (the first of the purple splatter ones if i am thinking correctly) were in 440V. the newer ones are in S30V i do believe.
Yup, Used to be called CPM440V, now called CPM S60V. Same steel made by the same company called differently so as not to confuse from the regular non CPM 440 series steels. They used to call S90V as CPM 420V, which if going by the numbers would put the premium steel by CPM lower than the S60V. LOL - It also invites comparison to the infamous 420j2 of the Inox Acier fame as they both carry the same number.
