While most swords are impractical in modern combat the boarding cutlass as a blade that stands apart.
A long history of naval service the boarding cutlass was a general issue weapon well into the 20th century, and even found use by Marines at Incheon. Korea. A powerful cut and thrust weapon the boarding cutlass is the largest blade possibly practical for extreme close quarters and has distinct advantage over the common bush knife or bowie.
This blade is 17&3/4 inches. Overall length of 23&1/4. Hand forged and hand finished in 1084 high carbon steel. Fully heated and edge quenched this shallow hardening steel is ideal for a blade of this size with a cutting edge of 56'ish rockewell and a spine in the low 50s this blade is tough and battle ready, acid etched for corrosion resistance and then scuffed back to a satin grey finish.
The nickel silver gaurd is hand forged and forge fit to the blade prior to heat treating and then slotted and pinned for ultimate strength. The handles are a beautiful rare padauk wood.
As always this blade ships with a hand crafted 10oz oakleaf leatehr sheath.
$400 shipped. First "I'll take it" gets it or feel free to purchase via my site listed below.
