Has anyone heard or purchased any of Bob Dozier knives? im planning on buying a skinning knife for hunting and would like to see if anyone has heard anything about these knives...

Steve,

Bob Dozier makes one of the best handmade user knives for the price. In fact, out of all the knives I have, it is the Dozier utility that sees most usage; they just begged to be used, not treasured as jewelry. I have owned three Doziers and strongly recommend them. The blades are ground with great expertise and the D2 is treated with deft hand as well. The edge is extremely sharp and maintains its sharpness with diligence.

Buy one, especially if you are going to use it for hunting. There probably is no better knife for the job.

Have to agree with Ron on this one.You would be hard pressed to find a better knife for the money.

I've got 4 Doziers and they are great. They come hairpopping sharp and Bob does a great Kydex sheath. I've got a skinner I've never used but it is a great design and very comfortable in the hand. One of the best values for your dollar IMO.

I got Dozier's "Straight Personal" knife at Blade. Love the knife -- scary sharp edge, good handle ergonimics (for my small hand) and a great kydex sheath. Overall excellent fit/finish/details. Oh, very reasonable prices. Won't be my last Dozier.

I own 2 Dozier knives. And in my opinion there some of the best knives for the money.I have used these knives while camping and they have never let me down.I recommend dozier knives 100%.

Doziers are some of the most reasonably priced handmades for the money. I own 4 of his knives currently and they are my most carried and used fixed blades. The horizontal kydex sheaths which accompany most of Bobs small models are among the best out there IMO. Bob and Mrs. Dozier, Linda are some of the nicest folks you' ll ever meet.

I agree with all of the positive comments! Bob Dozier's knives are an exceptional value, as well as exceptional knives (no matter the price!).

My Yukon Pro Skinner is an awesome belt knife for any task I may encounter while camping/hunting. It is extremely sharp, stays that way far longer than ANY other knife I have yet tried, and it is very easy to resharpen once it begins to dull. Bob's sheaths are also among the best.

You cannot go wrong with any of Bob's knives! They all beg to be used, and used hard... and they just plain work better than any others for their intended use.

I am eagerly awaiting a Dozier Pro Guide from AG Russell (who screwed my order up royally). It will be my first custom.

Superb knives, meant for the real world, even New York...

My 2nd Dozier came to the house yesterday. It's a slightly custom pro guide knife - it goes with my gen. utility. It's a beautiful piece of work, and more than worth the money.

I own a folding hunter, and a slim outdoorsman. Both are excellent. The folder I've had for 3 or 4 years, and it is even sharper than the slim outdoorsman, but that is because the blade is thinner according to Bob Dozier. It is a linerlock with a 2 5/8" blade, and is especially smooth in opening and closing, and could even be used as a skinning knife with the deep belly on the blade. I highly reccommend any of his knives, as they are of superior quality, and are made to be used.
my .02 cents.

I have a Personal Utility and, my favorite Dozier, a Pro Guide knife with a custom Advantage pattern Concealex sheath made by Blade-Tech.

Very hard to beat properly heat treated D-2 with Bob's grinding skills and fit and finish for the money.
