Guys in your opinion which Bob Dozier knife is the best for skinning Hogs and Whitetail?

My first was the K-4. But there is a lot of preference involved in choosing a particular model.

Bob (and Daniel) build great knives, it would be hard to go wrong with any of them for fit, finish or performance. Small skinners, capers, full size skinning blades or even bigger knives which perform skinning chores - Dozier builds all kinds. What's "best" is really up to your personal taste.

I like to carry a full size skinner and a smaller blade for detail work, so here's my current favorite patterns for a dual knife set - a K-2 General Purpose and a K-13 Whittler. I haven't had to use them on a hog yet, but hese two models have skinned everything from Whitetail in Washington to Brown Bear on Kodiak. I have bead blasted version of each that I carry now. If it had to come down to a single knife it would be the K-2.

Hope this helps,

Z

If you like a larger woods knife to be used while hunting, the Pro Guides Knife is quite nice. i believe it has a 5" blade. I believe I have 5 or 6 of Bob's knives and that number is likely to grow. I often pick one up at the Blade Show at Bob's tables.
