Bob Engnath's Blades and Stuff Catalog

Hey Dave, I took a quick look at that site. If you want a good grin click on Don Cowles name. It must have been the first knife Don made. :D

I had one of the catalogs your after and if I had it I'd send it to you. I believe it may have gotten burnt.

I did see that Ray, and I got a big grin out of it too. Goes to show what practice will do for you. :D

What are you looking for out of his catalog?

I have an old one, and a newer one...

I will not part with them, but I would share some information, maybe even do a bit of photocopying...

Marion

Marion, have you thought about scanning them and making them into pdfs? I think that's something almost everyone would be interested in. I'd sure be willing to pay for a CD of the pages... Just a thought, don't know whether Mr Engath's family would support that but from the tone of the Engath website it seems they might.

My girl knows how to do this, let me see if I can convince her to do it.

I would try, but I have no scanner, and I run Linux, so finding a program could be a bit of an issue.

Marion

Well Marion, running Linux makes you my hero.:cool: I'm not so willing to dig into the OS, so I run a Mac. But KDE4 and a recent video editing app have about convinced me to go Ubuntu. My next machine will be a Linux box, though that might simply be a netbook.

Anyway, Good luck! I can make the images into pdfs and burn CDs if that's of interest to you. Maybe we can make this a collaboration? I'll also ask around to see how other Linux users are addressing scanning issues. Don't know for sure that any are though, now I think about it. We'll see.

Marion I just sent you email. Meanwhile I'm looking into scanning possibilities for Linux. We'll see what we can come up with.

Dave,

Got your emails, and I think the Linux deal is not going to be worth the trouble.

But, my girl is a graphic desin guru, and quite handy with her Mac, and she has agreed to undertake the project with me.

It will most likely be a couple weeks, but we will digitize those catalogs, the useful parts anyway....

Marion

Man that's great! (It's also nice to learn of another Mac user. ;)) Please keep us posted as I know there will be a lot of interest in this project. Thanks Marion, and have a great week.

PS - I dig your website.
