Bob Loveless - 41 Individual Knives + Collage

Very nice work Cory.
Looks like half a million bucks worth of Loveless knives there if each one sold individually at full market value. Just guessing as I'm not a Loveless expert.

Thanks for adding the names, Cory, as this amazing display has now become a truly
valuable document for all Loveless knife lovers!!

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Thanks David...I sent an email to John Denton and he quickly provided the info I needed.

What an impressive project. Dr. T is a great maker in his own right. I see he likes to own quality!

The individual images all have great character, and I LOVE RWL's signatures on his sheaths. I feel that adds value above and beyond than without. What a showcase of styles and through the years.

That's a super montage. You cut out each one? Whewww..... that's a ton of work. Great idea with 'lost' the oval stencil. I'll remember that tip.

Good thread. :)

This is such an instructive thread.
Thank you so much!

So many wonderful pieces, so MANY Lawndale marks, one helluva beautiful grouping.

Really great collection...I enjoyed seeing these photographs.
Thank you for sharing !

Thanks Coop, I actually checked out your website's gallery and used the Search function to find the Loveless knives you've done in the past. I wanted to get a feel for what's important to show on these knives and ideas for layout / positioning. Yes I actually cut out each knife and yes it was a ton of work. I'm sure it exists but I don't know another way in Photoshop to get everything combined into 1 big picture like that. I actually just finished uploading a bigger version of the collage to my website. The original image was 15000 x 11250 pixels and my first uploaded version was 5000 pixels, I just uploaded the 10000 pixel version. It's worth a 2nd look at the higher resolution :D

That's what I thought as well, however I owned a rare Loveless piece (only 4 in existence) with an unsigned sheath and asked someone we all consider a Loveless "expert" if I should perhaps try to get Bob to sign it. He stated, considering how few sheaths are unsigned it shouldn't hurt the value, and more likely increased the value of the knife in question.
I just thought I would share that as I found it very interesting.

OK, I'll take #2,#12, and #32. Please send PayPal info. Ho HO. Amazing collection.

The fee alone would be a month's paycheck!!!

Amazing collection, I am speechless..................................

As a Loveless collector, all I can say is WOW! What a beautiful collection. There are some really great old rare,(some one of a kind) loveless knives. Many years of searching hi and low to find so many great pieces. That's the beauty of collecting Loveless knives, just when you think you have see it all, something never seen before pops up. It keeps it really interesting.
Great job on the pics!!!
Thanks for sharing

Cory, your collage image is going to be referred to for a very long time with Loveless collectors and admirers... It's work that really matters, and you should be very proud ... I myself know so little about Bob's various designs, that this whole thread is just amazing to me...

Dr. Tabor, many owners of collections this impressive are sometimes reluctant to share them.. I am so happy you did, and want to simply say "thank you"..

Best Regards, Rich Slaughter
