Bob Lum Chinese Folder in ZDP 189

When can we expect to see the Bob Lum Chinese Folder in ZDP 189? This knife design is one of my favorites. Unfortunately I stumbled upon his work after his passing. I just missed one of your previous versions on a used knife web-site and would like to have either this new one or an old one or both.
 
I would like to know too....am going to try and get at least 2. may I know where I can get on a pre-order list also?
 
IIRC, the latest what I heard shipping small batch, mostly CC will start end of May. It looks like this didn't happened. :(
Most likely, sooner or later we will get it. I have it on pre-order in NGK for two years, so few month will not make much difference, at least for me.
It would be nice to hear update from Spyderco.

Thanks bh49, I went on the Sypderco company forum. It looks like this will be very hard to come by. 4,000 or more pre-orders for a sprint run of 1,500. I guess I'll keep looking for used ones on the net.
 
IMHO, with some effort you will be able to get it. Try less known dealers when they come out. I remember insanity with blue ZDP Delica. First 600 were sold within hours, but when second 600 hit dealers there were few days when anybody could get them.

BTW, it is only 1200 pieces, up to 200 will go to CC members.
But I think quite a few people pre-ordered in many places, so when there will be a time to pay, these people will not need everything what they pre-order.

If you put some effort you will find your Lum, it is worth your efforts, Lum Chinese is a nice knife with great ergos.

Thanks for the info. I've got a BM Mini-Dejavoo, which is my first nice knife and I love the design.
 
The Lum was supposed to come out one or two years ago; I wouldn't hold my breath for it to come out anytime soon.

I, personally, am wondering about the titanium Lil, Temperance???:confused: Unless I missed that it wasn't going to be made. (Or unless it wass and I'm completley out of the loop)!

I think the Lil' Temp II was put on the backburner.:(
 
As I understand, the first shipment of Chinese folders is on its way to Golden this month, 200 pcs. Collectors will be first.

We should be able to get about 200 pcs per month until the run is complete.

The Lil' Temperance is on a back burner due to vendor issues.

Thanks for the update. It sounds like with all of the wait lists I've joined the party too late for this run.

We're all in the same boat: If there are really that many pre-orders I'm wondering if I'll get one too - and it was my idea. ;)

With things like this, I say keep your eyes open and be prepared. Just because dealer orders exceed the planned supply, doesn't mean the shipped knives are already pre-sold to ELU. It is a relatively high ticket item, and those tend to move more slowly. OTOH people can be a little nuts when it comes to ZDP anthing. :D

Got my pre-order in. Thanks, guys. This will be my third spyderco and I'm really looking forward to it.

I've had a 1st gen. Delica for years and recently picked up a Sage. Next up will probably be a Military or Persian.
