Hi guys,

Anyone have this knife? What are your experiences with it? Can anyone tell me what year it was released in? Is it 2000? Also, am I right in saying that it came with VG10 steel blade? Has it been discontinued? If so, how much can I expect to pay for the standard (green) in mint condition?
 
I don't know the answers to your questions but I hear we are going to see a limited sprint run of the Chinese with black almite handles and ZDP-189 steel likely this year, which you may find interesting.
 
Yes, it was a Y2K release, yes it was VG-10, yes it has been discontinued for years. No, I don't have one so no experiences to share, expect to pay at least a couple hundred bucks for one in mint condition, probably more. :D

Price seems to fluctuate a little on this one. NIB I've seen it as low as $250
and as high as $335.

If you're willing to import one from Asia, i can point you to a site that has them for around $205 before shipping.
 
I've wanted one of these for awhile now. A NIB was up on eBay a few days ago that went for $361 and change.

If you can find one in like new condition for under $200 it would seem to be a good deal.

They have a high resale value. I am going to go for a sprint run.

I managed to pick up a slightly used green PE for 150 USD, the scales had some small chips missing (very, very small).

However, the knife was never sharpened and for 150 bones I'm a happy camper.

I had a SE Lum before, sold it off and promptly regretted it. This ones a keeper.

When the ZDP version with black handles comes out, I'll pick it up and make it a safe queen ;)
