Bob Lum has passed away....R.I.P....

I never met him, but his impact was everywhere I looked...

RIP Mr Lum...

Talked to Bob on the phone several times and at every Blade Show I attended. Damn nice guy !

Condolences and prayers to his family.

RIP Bob !

For those of us who knew about his condition, the wait was agonizing. He was a gentleman of the highest order. And he made knives.

I was honored to have been called his friend. R.I.P. Bob.

One of the best has left us.

His knives exemplified the words "clean and uncluttered"..I often wonder if that was a result of his expertise as a photographer?

I met Bob several times and he was always extraordinarily friendly and gracious.

I wish I had known him better.

Oh no! What a talented maker. He'll be missed by all who know his work and those who love him.

RIP

It is my loss that I never met him.

But I've seen his knives!

A great knifemaker has passed on ... RIP.

So sorry to hear this sad news.
Condolences to the family.
Rest in Peace Bob Lum.

I didn't know Bob Lum but had been an admirer of his fine work. That is sad and hopefully he will Rest in Peace.

I've always admired his work, but never had an opportunity to meet the man and see his work in person.

Great posts, how about some pictures to honor his skill? Coop, have some Lums in your closet? :)

Show us your favorites. I would if I had a Lum and digital camera.

How about some history. Folk tales say he invented the American Tanto which was subsequently borrowed by everyone. Is it true?

Can we make this thread into a visual tribute with some good anecdotes?
