I picked up a two blade jack with bone scales, carbon steel blades (don't even remember the maker, that's how obscure it is), the Blade price guide said it was made in the 30's-40's. It was about 8 bucks, and I picked it up so cheap because, number one, it had been around the block a few times, and two, it was missing a pin. I just had to have the knife though. Walk and talk on such an old knife, and you could tell it had had a full life. I got some much appreciated help from a local knife maker, but still needed a pin (he was right, the lack of pin drove me nuts).

Bob Picklesimer was recommended to me, and I figured, what the hell. It was worth a shot. Am I glad I did! Not only did he put a new pin in, but he cleaned the knife up too, and sharpened it to scary sharpness (Tony Bose/Chris Reeve/Spyderco/Scott Gossman sharpness!). This will come as heresy to some, but it looks like a new knife!

Thanks to Bob, and thanks to STR for recommending him to me.

I have collaborated with Bob on several projects and I can also vouch for the top caliber work that he does.

I've referred a lot of work to Bob. He has always done me right and always did right by the customers he was servicing!
