Y'all need to check this out. Ernie Mayer has been saying this forever, but nobody seemed to believe his translation of some Japanese documents. Hitachi has now done their own translation. Ernie somehow managed to piss off Paul Bos who won't even consider a single experiment with this formula per a conversation I had with him a year ago...I too managed to upset him and I regret that BUT the evidence is becoming clear: if your ATS34 blades are being brought up past 900F on the temper strokes you're not getting optimum results.
