Up for your consideration is a Stunning Rare Custom Bowie knife by Bob Wilbert. Wilbert takes pride in his knives as all the pieces are 100% handmade which ensures they are virtually flawless. Several days of hard work in pursuit of perfection makes these knives a treat for an eye. The knife is made with exquisite organic materials; other than hand forged Damascus blade the handle is constructed with Stag Antler. The Twisted patterned Damascus blade has extremely sharp edge. Although its an art folder with remarkable quality, having all the subtle details in place, it is also made to do rough and rugged cutting jobs. This knife comes with a, custom made, thick leather pouch.

It's a knife of highest quality and craftsmanship, and is a centerpiece for any collection of fine folders.

Marvellous Unique Custom Knife
Designed & hand made by knife maker Bob Wilbert.

A WORK OF ART !

This prestigious rare Knife was designed and custom made by Bob Wilbert. Knife not only looks gorgeous but it also has rock solid construction with its 5.50 mm thick blade going all the way inside handle without any joint or weld. Gorgeous DAMASCUS blade of this Knife is the result of hours and hours of forging. Not many custom makers can keep such pattern of layers upon layers flowing all the way to the edge of the blade, which creates a saw-blade effect at microscopic level, allowing the blade to keep cutting while other blades have dulled. Bob Wilbert hand forged the blade of this Knife with 1095 and 15N20. Blade was given excellent heat treatment and Rockwell hardness of the blade along its edge is 57. 5.50 mm Blade has fantastic hand grinds on both sides and both sides with top side left with a false edge. Overall length of this Knife is 17.0" and the length of the blade is 11.0 inches. Superb handle of this Knife is a work of art. It is made of Gorgeous Camel Bone With Burl Wood & Horn. Knife is complimented with awesome Hand Forged Damascus Guard & Bolster.

This seller has many other mass-produced "import" junk items for your viewing pleasure, each guaranteed to create projectile reverse paristalsis. :barf:

Yet another "knife faker" attempting to defraud the uninformed and ruin the custom knife industry.

Nahh. There is no single he maker. It's a renowned dealer scam of presenting these third world handmade knives with an Americanized single name as a suggestion of Custom Quality.

Truthfully for what they sell for you ARE getting a lot of handmade work and even some talent. These poor guys who are bangin' them out in some sweatshop are getting paid pennies. I hope they are OK with that.

Biggest drawback has always been the soft steel, from all reports. And... no credibility whatsoever.

Good to point this out, though. There will always be someone asking about 'Bob Wilbert's' prowess in handmade knives. LOL!

Hello, I am Roodillon from Colorado and I just joined your site. It's nice to meet all of you. I love collecting knives. I have around 100. However I am not a wealthy man, and most of my knives are medium priced or even inexpensive factory knives. I enjoy them and that is all that counts. But I doubt that most of you here would be impressed with my little collection. I have made in USA knives but I have also been enjoying the new wave of knives from Pakistan. They fit my budget. Anyway the reason that I am posting in this thread is because I bought a "Bob Wilbert" knife and I wanted you to know that not everybody who buys one is an idiot who got scammed. Because I never for a second took this seriously; I mean I never thought there was an actual man named Bob Wilbert who hand made custom knives. I could tell immediately that it was just another Pakistan knife made with a blank. But I like it. I just wanted you all to know that they are not fooling EVERYBODY. I just bought it for the looks of it and immediately knew the whole "Bob Wilbert" thing was BS. I mean, who in Pakistan is named Bob Wilbert LOL? And it has all the attributes of a garden variety Pakistan knife (although it looks different in its rather strange way, that's why I bought it.) Anyway here is a picture of the knife that I just bought. As you can see it is quite unique. I've never seen another one like it, although I'm sure that they are out there. It looks like somebody in Pakistan had a bit too much hashish when they made this one. But don't bother raining on my parade, I already knew exactly what I was buying. As you can see it is very unique looking, and I've always like different and/or gaudy things and this fits the bill. Don't worry, I would not bet my life on it or carry it. When in the outdoors I carry a rugged, made in USA knife. This one is for display only. It will never be used as a knife. I have my display knives and I have my working knives that I carry for whatever purpose. This is a display only knife. Given that, I have no issues with it and I am looking forward to receiving it.

I told you that I like gaudy and unique things! I know exactly what it is and that serious collectors would think it is funny. I don't mind! It makes me happy. And any happiness a man can find in this crazy world is a good thing in my opinion. But feel free to flame away! It's cool.

Hey I even got a Bob Wilbert sheath with it!

You know what I respect your point...if you like it buy it and be happy. There is no rule where it says either a $55 knife will make someone less happy than a $1000 knife. Good for you buddy you should do some cut tests with it. Who knows maybe it is pretty good and for the ones who don't like it there is always spray paint!!! Lol

Thomas, how did they con me? I knew what it was, as stated above. And the simple fact is that I DON'T CARE who made it. I have strange tastes and I think the knife is very cool. That's all. Some of you seem to think that "Bob Wilbert" is ruining the knife collection hobby. Allow me to make a couple of points. 1) The people who buy knives like this (myself included) like them and we would probably never be buying collector grade knives that cost from several hundred to several thousand dollars. Now, I am a musician. I have around $20,000 in high end gear. I paid $3,000 each for two synthesizers, so that is $6,000. Would you spend $6,000 on two synthesizers? Of course not. You do not need them (unless by chance you are a musician who plays synthesizers.) You will never be in the high end synthesizer market. But one day you might feel that playing a keyboard would be fun, so you go out and buy one for $300. Would I give you a hard time about it? No. I would congratulate you and wish you the best of luck with it and answer any questions you may have about how to use it. Because there are decent synthesizers that you can buy for $300. Just as there are decent knives that you can buy for $51. Neither the $300 synthesizer nor the $51 Pakistan knife would be anything special, but we would not expect them to be. However our purchases would make us happy. What is so bad about being happy? You have no need to fear that your hobby will be "ruined" by knives like the Bob Wilbert tomfoolery. We purchasers of them are not serious collectors. So, as I said earlier, we will probably never be in the zone of your particular hobby, ie. very expensive knives. 2) Do you really think that there are people out there running around with a Pakistan knife and saying "look, I got a Bob Wilbert!" Give people some credit for intelligence. It is plain to see that a $51 knife is nothing special. And even if there are a few people who are fooled - so what? They are happy! They did not spend a lot of money and they got something that they enjoy. I have other Pakistan knives and they are plenty decent enough for anything that I want to do. Just like a $300 synthesizer would be plenty decent enough for anything that you would want to do. They feel good in my hand, open and close smoothly (the folders anyway) and they seem to be sharp (I cut my finger haha!) And you never know - far from discouraging us, these knives could make some people want to get better and better knives as they can afford them. I am in that category myself. So far from discouraging people, these knives can only make them want to buy better and better ones. I see no threat to your hobby here. I respectfully ask that you lighten up and re-think the whole thing and ask yourself why somebody else's happiness makes you upset.

Those strongly resemble the "Mora" knives that are as ugly as homemade dung.

I like it. And at least nine other people who bid on it like it too. It's all in the eye of the beholder. And I can understand why some people would not like it, it is garish. But I like garish. And the people on my Facebook page like the picture of it that I put on there. We are simply not high end knife collectors. No harm done.

I don't think, as a matter of fact I know, that he didn't mean you got conned. He was speaking about many others who would buy from these frauds thinking they just bought a custom knife from a knifemaker named Bob Wilbert. It's like buying a fake Rolex.Hey! Looks just like one, keeps time! What's the difference!

It's fraud, it's dishonest.

I bought a Pakistani bowie. I like it. A little too gaudy with the guard but I like the blade shape, it gets sharp and stays sharp and I'm satisfied. What I didn't do was buy from "Bob Wilbert". The maker(whoever it was) shipped from Pakistan and disclosed "made in Pakistan"

That is the difference.

Message received about his post. As for the rest - I don't care who else bought one or why. If someone is dumb enough to think that they can buy a collector grade knife for fifty bucks then they deserve what they get. I was never under such an illusion and I never heard of Bob Wilbert when I ordered it. I just liked the way it looked. It could have said Hitler made it for all I care. I still would have bought it. How can you expect anyone who is not a serious knife collector to know not buy a knife that says Bob Wilbert? So I will leave you to your serious hobby now, I just have fun with mine and this is not fun. I just bought something. I didn't do anything wrong. Am I supposed to know every single thing about every single thing on Earth? If you are as happy with your collection as I am with mine then I am genuinely happy for you. Because I enjoy mine. And all of this just makes me happier about the new knife because you guys take knives too seriously. I am simply not that way and I do not want to be. I'll leave you all to talk crap about me now and get yourselves all worked up about "Bob Wilbert." Me? I'm going to buy another "Bob Wilbert" knife just because of this thread. The ones they try to say are made by "Bob Wilbert" are actually pretty unique and don't look like any other knives. Maybe I'll become a Bob Wilbert collector and start a Bob Wilbert forum on the Internet. Bye!
