Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The answer is not really. They aren't made for slash or puncture protection from blades. The primary function of these sleeves is as supplemental body armor protection as heat shields. People that would have an interest in these sleeves are people who fight wildfires or US military personnel that regularly go outside the wire on patrol. IED's are the primary cause of burn injuries. According to UC Davis Health System there are over eight hundred U.S. soldiers and counting that have ended up as burn victims. The pain from this type of injury is unbelievably excruciating. These sleeves offer just that little bit of extra arm protection from the knuckles to the biceps.
