hey guys.
I finished these knives a few days ago.
bullnose butcher blade design (very slicey) dates back to middle ages - so I really wanted to make a couple of tough and primal looking knives - with a bit of grim and sinister in them, too:grumpy:
bog oak (thousands of years old, streaked with lines of jet black and silver) in combination with heavily sculpted and aged brass made a good materials choice.
handle is comfortable and safe in hand, loosely shaped after the wide ribcage and narrow loin of a hound.
here are the specs:
blades are forged by finn antti makinen in 0.7C tool steel (equivalent to 1070) and tempered to about 59Hrc.
approximate dimensions:
4.7" x 0.23" x 1"
handles are made in bog oak with brass bolsters.
length:
4.8"
price is 225USD shipped per knife.
cheers,
Mile
