Has the Mothership ever said anything about the estimated age of the particular bog oak stash they use on their knives?
(Just wondering as I sit putting another coat of RenWax on the Mnandi.:))

Thanks for the info, Lone_Wolfe. I did find an old post on the subject.

Hello everyone,
I thought I would share some info on the Source/age of the Bog Oak inlays CRK used on my Mnandi. I emailed them to ask about it because I'm interested in the history of such things. I received a very nice return email from Alycia the very next day...

"I hope you are enjoying your Mnandi! Our Bog Oak comes from Northern Germany, from the area of Stade. It's a very "swampy" area next to the river "Elbe". The farmers in this area are occasionally lucky to find bog oak while working in the fields. The batch of Bog Oak recovered for us is between 3,000 and 6,000 years old! (This age is determined by the coloring of the Bog Oak.)"

Now to find a 10,000 year old bark to go with this 5,000yr old wood...

I think that’s amazing that the wood does not degrade into the earth at that age. Special stuff
