I have been getting phone calls, emails and pm's daily from makers going to the Boise Knife Show next week making sure I saved some of the good stuff for the show. I have been setting aside pieces for a few months.

When I was cutting and sanding pieces it seemed like more than this. These are mostly stabilized blocks and scales with the exception of the ironwood and a couple others.

Tomorrow I will lay out more of the stash and take a couple photos. Laying them out helps me to visualize how much I have to bring better than looking at a bunch of boxes.

I was thinking about bringing some larger chunks and burl slabs in addition to the blocks and scales. If anyone is going to the show and has any requests, just post what you think I should bring.

Man, you're taking an awful risk showing that stuff here. We'll buy it out from under you if you're not careful!

Phil,
I actually thought of you when I took the photo.
Kind of expected a post like "I want the 3rd from the left in the 5th row and....."
Just teasing you.;)

I was thinking about laying everything out tomorrow and then picking out some for a weekend sale here on the forum.

Ha...I started to type something like that out twice, but decided against it as I was afraid it might start a rush. :D

I picked up something like 10 sets of scales from you in the last few months. I've started some but not finished due to health and other projects. So I am glad you aren't posting anything now.

I like this wood so well I could almost start a collection of blocks and never use them

I will see you and your wood at the show...Looks like there isn't enuff :D

As the boise show will be the first knife show I have ever attended (spectator only this time) besides all of the great knives and people I hope to see/meet I am really looking forward to the suppliers like mark.

I got a bit sidetracked today.
There were a few pieces my boss asked me if they were good handle wood. I said yes, but wanted to cut it up to make sure.

The first photo was a spalted maple stump before I cut it into pieces. Cool colors and some blackline. On top of that it is all tight fiddleback curl.

Here is a close up of one of the pieces. Not a ton of blackline but good colors and figure.

Next was a buckeye burl. Not as much blue as I would have liked but a lot of solid area with really good figure. Plus a little more spalted maple.

Last was some walnut burl. The parts without the burl figure have really good curly figure.

Now I have to cut this stuff up into blocks. I will keep some as slabs as well.

Saturday I will pick out a few dozen of the already cut pieces and post them on sale here on the forum. It will probably be early afternoon.

I'll travel the full 5 miles to see what you still have left. I am really looking forward to this show!

Lucky to be living in Boise!

Mark, you're such a tease. I was immediately drawn to most of the first row, particularly the first five or six from the right. You guys that are going to be able to make it to this show are in for a treat.

Getting ready for the show has caused me to dig through stuff that was stashed and forgotten in my shop. I only have 2 tables for the show so there will be a lot of stuff in boxes under the tables as well.

Just seeing who is going to be at the show and the knives they are bringing makes me think this will be one of the most fun shows yet.
