Boker AK1

Never been one for the 'pocket fixed blade' concept. Until I got the AK1, that is...

Got this drop point last year. RWL-34 & CF. Very nimble in hand, lightweight & inobtrusive in the pocket. Nice leather sheath with integrated ulti-clip.

Been carrying it some (alternating with the Dacian and ARK) and it came ahead in terms of general useability. Easy to carry, easy to use, easy to touch up every now and then. BTE thickness 0.4 mm (0.016")

Liked it so much that I needed to get a second. N690 blade steel, kydex sheath, Richlite scales, still Solingen-made.

Then kinda figured I'd like some high-vis G10 orange scales on this one.

So now I have a pair of nice Richlite scales sitting pretty in a box, I guess you see where this is heading .

Anyway, if you happen to consider the AK1 I'd say give it a go, in my experience (and for my uses) it's not a bad option for an EDC.

Decided to go with a slim 3.3 ulti-clip, fits great on the taco-style sheath and is way lighter than the supplied Boker clip

They also have this neat gimmick, allowing you to decide if you want a lanyard hole or not.

Very, very nice little users in different steels.

very cool! i like boker a lot. They have many great designs. I see you have that little spyderco fixed blade in rotation as well… My favorite edc fixed blade is the discounted spyderco street beat with g-10 handle scales and a VG-10 satin finished blade. I’m always looking for a new knife to dethrone it as my favorite everyday day carry fixed blade; not because it needs replacing, just to see if it can be superseded. It’s been about a decade and I have yet to find one. It’s 6.75 inches total in length with a 3 inch blade and 3.5 inch handle with horizontal contours which is a nice touch. I can just get a total purchase with all four of my fingers on the grip. My favorite feature that makes it stand apart from others is the deep finger choil that’s separated from the blade by a ~.25 inch ricasso that acts as a half guard. Combined with the very nice jumping on the spine, my hand has a rock solid purchase that will not slip or get stuck as i have the deep choil to pull back against. I wanted my everyday carry to be for utility and defense. and it has. In fact it saved me from getting robbed at knife point for $1,000 dollars when I surprised the guy by pulling it out from appendix carry. It has a clip point to make it nice and “pokey.” And of course it’s full tang. It came with a high quality polymer sheath with a G-clip. Like the Street Beat itself, I can not fully express how much I like the G-clip. It has 8 different positions and can be clipped onto anything with with zero chance at coming off due to its robust material, tension, and a backward, rounded lip that grabs onto waistbands and straps and won’t let go unless you force it. It really is the total package and supper versatile. You don’t even need a belt, clips right on to the waistband. The only thing that I dislike about it is the almost imperceivable recurve in it’s blade and the absence of a sharpening choil. I would improve it by adding a small sharpening choil the increases the blade depth by an 1/8th of an inch and put an ever so slight belly on it to replace the slight recurve. I liked it so much I bought the cheaper black coated bladed and rubber gripped one in the same size and one with the larger blade; only becuase the G-10/satin finish is discontinued otherwise i would have gotten those ones. I leave the long bladed one in my car for defense in case i need it so that I’m protected and secure. I can just clip it onto any waist band, even basketball shorts. Highly recommend!
