Boker Albatros

I have the GTC Federal and it was perfect from day one. The clip is weird but works. Looks fantastic.

However, my answer is Minos. Fort Knox!
I like to keep a variety in my small collection of collaborations as I can't afford the customs :( Already have the Brad Southard, Marcin Slysz, Kevin Wilkins, Jens Anso. A Sniper Bladeworks and Gustavo Cecchini would compliment the collection well :)

Here are pictures of my Boker Albatros sandwiched between two of its competitors, that is, the Benchmade 755 MPR and the Spyderco Techno. Of course, the Albatros costs quite a bit less than the other two and actually competes fairly well -- to an extent. The real possible shortcoming of the Albatros is the blade steel.

Just an update, got a new Albatros back from Boker. Thanks Terry!!! The knife looks & feels the same as my last one with a couple differences. For 1 the lock up is Really early, maybe 5%, but its rock solid. 2nd the edge is actually shaving sharp!!! My first 1 had a lock up at about 15-20% and at first was solid up & down but still had a slight side to side play and the edge was.... to be frank, dull. Very happy so far with my new 1 :)
O yah, & just ordered a GTC yesterday... a few beers in & just couldn't help myself :P

Hi Terry,

Was Considering picking up an Albatros and was wondering if there are any distinguishing marks on the box or knife itself that would tell me whether it's a first run or second run knife, so that I can ask the retailer that I'm purchasing from to identify for me. If I do end up purchasing one and it turns out to have bladeplay/lockrock, would I be able to send it in to Boker for repair/replacement? Thanks!

Yes, the problems were fixed between the first and second runs.
Terry
