Hi, I recently saw some threads regarding the automatic version of this knife, and most people seemed to agree that it was a very good overall knife for normal use. Since it's illegal to carry around an automatic knife where I live (california), I was thinking about buying the manual folder version of this knife

Is this a good knife, and is this a good price for it? I already have a Kershaw Storm right now and was wondering if the Boker would be a noticable improvement. If not then I may just pass on it, but if any of you guys have any experience with the Boker, please give me your opinions on it.

Thanks guys,

Gary

I got the KAL 74 about a week ago, the price from the site you linked to is about what I paid for mine, it came to 33.00 with shipping. I got the olive handled, black blade liner lock version, not the push button lock. Many vendors list this as a "Boker" knife , but it actually has the "Magnum" name on it. Magnum is a Taiwanese lower end Boker brand, but for 22.00 it's a nice knife IMO. I bought it because I like Kalashnikov rifles and the magazine shaped box is cool. It's a larger folder than the Kershaw, but I don't own the Kershaw to compare quality.

I wouldn't think that the Boker would be any improvment whatsoever on the Kershaw.

I agree, I have the Storm and the Boker/Magnum. The Storm is a "better" knife but I like the KAL74 as well. You will get this reaction as well, "BUY THEM BOTH!!":D

Ah ok, since I don't have that much money to throw around, I guess I'll pass on the Boker since you guys say that the Kershaw is better.

Thanks guys!
