Boker Plus Apparo?

The Apparo is relatively expensive in Canada so I'm not sure if I'll be buying it. However if I were to buy it, my reasons for doing so would be the following; it looks badass, it looks cool, and I get a buzz looking at it. Nuff said.
Say Heah Larry, Yeah I have the Bokor Aparro, here's why I bought mine besides it's looks. Martin makes some awesome hollow handle knives. Just about all my hollow handle knives use his method of connecting the blade to the handle. My Buck Buckmaster #184, my Bokor Aparro, even my Russian made NV1-01 which reads NB1-01 but in the Cyrillic Alphabet the "B" is a "V". Except my Randall Made Model #18 it's silvered soldered, I also have a vintage Tomahawk Brand Survival Knife that was the longest made survival knife that was used alot back then when I hunted hog, but mine is also made in the USA. Anyhow Martin allowed Bokor to use his method of connecting the blade and the handle together. From what I understand the blade has Screw teeth on it and the handle has the female treads, the handle is then screwed in and it's a marriage that's pretty strong. Then a epoxy fills that marriage and when it hardens, it makes a very strong bind, not only the blade won't unscrew but it's alot stronger in that area where the blade would bend and break before that marriage breaks. I grew up on the 440c. and if properly tempered it's a good steel, and Bokor got it down as far as tempering the 440c. I don't know if you bought tge Aparro or not, But if someone talked you out of buying it, I chop and baton with mine and I have mine fir a few years now and it's as solid as the day I bought mine. I defenetly would recommand it. Paul'ie

Oh, my Tomahawk Brand Survival Knife is not connected as the Martin method. But I used it just to hunt, it does have a very fine teeth saw back that worked great to rip though a tough hyde and not to saw wood. I still have mine and I would use it again, But I don't hunt anymore. The knife is still in very good shape, and the blade was 440c.

OK, so I got what I consider a killer deal on a lightly used Boker Plus Apparo with a sheath the previous owner modified to strengthen and add a thigh strap to tie it down. I'm not crazy about his leather work, but OK, so be it. The knife is pretty impressive to me, deadly sharp, and the previous owner wrapped a leather strap on the handle to improve grip. Again, something I can live with. I got the knife for $35 and a small Leatherman for another $5, so I was pretty jazzed about my score at the yard sale. I do have one question though... about the hand guard. I'm wondering what the functional deal is with the holes and the square ends are about the hand guard, if there's some plan about that, or it's just that way "because it's that way". Any thoughts?
