Boker Plus Kressler Subhilt vs CS Black Bear Classic

Really? Why?

Because you can only compare statistics between known entities. Unless you can provide the specifics of the "other" steels you have no idea as to their properties. The only identified steels are the 440C and VG1.

Saying that VG1 is the only steel going on in a laminated steel is like saying the Fallkniven laminates are simply VG10

And your point is? At no place did I make such a statement.

Comparing the properties of unknown compositions is like making a judgement based strictly on MSRP when you already know that MSRP does not show the true value.

"The main question should be 440C vs VG-1. Both are very similar, and Cold Steel admits on their website that other stainless alloys have advantages over VG-1, but they use it because they felt it was the best compromise. Obviously Boker feels that, for their purposes 440C is the better steel."

That is your original post where you surmise that San Mai is nothing more than VG1.

Your argument makes not one lick of sense, the advice is wrong and you got called out on it, just go do a little more reading, a little less posting, it's ok.

As for the rest of your follow-up, circular logic, or circular arguments for that matter, don't make the original fallacy correct.

Hi Treg,

I agree at these prices, they should give the option of leather or kydex. However, the Boker leather sheath is junk. With respect, I think you paid to much!

Cordially,

Keep in mind that $340.00 CDN shipped ain't bad...:) btw knifecenter won't ship double edge knives to Canada without charging and extra $35.00 usd supposably due to customs...

Hi, is the Kressler made from .25-inch stock? It does not state on the description of their website!

Thank you,

BabyJWuu
I'm afraid I didn't take my caliper to the show with me nor did I inquire into the thickness of the blade when I visited the Boker booth. So I can't answer the question definitively. But I'd guesstimate that it was 1/4" thick at the ricasso.
