Boker Plus/Skellern Exskelibur I (Tons of pics/video)

because of this thread and some others on different forums, i have ordered a boker exskelibur II. does anyone have both models? if so are the clips the same size?:)

Resurrection!

I just received my Bur 1 today. Great knife. I'm very happy with it. One thing I did notice is that the tip up clip hole at the hind section of the handle goes all the way through the titanium liner. I was able to poke a toothpick through it to see the tip of the toothpick. Why would they do that if they didn't thread the clip screws into the liner? I'm going to see if I can feel threads there.

That aside, I'm a pretty big spyderco fan and haven't purchased a non Spyderco for a year or so because I'm usually not really happy with the the other brands but this is a different case for sure. I can't stop opening and closing this knife. It's really a nice knife for $50+. Recommended for sure! I may spring for the Moor 1 next . . . and at 3 to 3.3 ouces, what's not to like for a light to medium duty EDC? The action is butter and the knife just flies open and locks up solid. The pivot washers appear to be some sort of nylon or teflon like the Mcustas use from what I can see with the assembled knife. The fit and finish is superb for this price point. Blade is centered well, the G10 is very well done, perfect grip without being slippery or rough on the pockets and the blade work is outstanding. It's a sexy blade IMO. The edge work is thin and even and the knife came super sharp. I ran it over some 1200 a couple times and stropped it and it tops hairs NP. And again, that action :D Other worthy comments are that the jimping is done really well. Good grip for the opening method. Well done there. Feels like a file almost. And they did a radius tang for lockop so it should wear well and locks up solid.

Great review!
I got my Böker Plus Exskelibur I the other day and I can't get over how nice this rather simple knife really is!

FYI, the only minor difference between my EU? model and the OP's is that mine doesn't have "China" printed on it... and I'm really happy about that! I was told Böker Plus were made in Taiwan, but I couldn't verify that.

I received mine about a week ago and it also says china.
If you would really hate that a little sandpaper and it's off:p.

I also read Boker Plus was made in Taiwan but it says China.
I read on an Italian website they used Japanese 440c steel.
So what should be true:rolleyes:.

The made in China will be the truth for sure:D.

Nice well made knife.

I decided not to buy anything made in China I dont have to.

Am sure they will sell like hot cakes.

Where can I order the pivot adjustment tool/wrench for this ?

I don't know where, but it's not hard to do it by yourself from ... paper clip =)
Something like that: (sorry for bad photo)

After owning mine for a while, the only downside besides the cons noted by the OP is that in the tip down configuration, the jimping chews my hand upto pieces reaching into my pocket. I had to swap the clip to tip up to mitigate that.

I just picked one up a week ago, and I have literally bought customs that weren't made this well. I also love South African style flippers. It is a cool way to open a knife.

While I mostly enjoy Spydies or frame and liner locks, this folder has its own appeal and it is fun to play with!

I bought mine through A.G. Russell, where a customer rep got out several Bokers, checked them for QC and picked the best.

I was so happy with the service, I called back a week or so later and ordered a second.

Highly recommended -- the Boker as well as customer service from Yvonne at A.G. Russell!
