Boker Tree Brand Congress Knife, Chinese or German??

Tree brand Boker Solingen= Germany
Tree brand Boker Arbolito=Argentina
Boker plus= Taiwan, China or Italy
Boker Magnum= Taiwan or China

The "Boker box" my knife came in was clearly labeled "Made in China". No mistake here, nor any evidence of concealment/cover up. There were no "bones" made about the knife's origin.

I mailed in the Limited Lifetime Warranty coupon that came in the box the day it arrived (yesterday). I think that Boker will honor their warranty. I think that I can rest easy with a company that's been in business for such a long time.

I won't sweat the "small stuff" (and its all "small stuff").

Update time.

I had asked this question AFTER I had ordered it and after hearing that this was a Chinese knife we were talking about, I sent the folks I ordered it from an email expressing that I had intentions to return it and requested a refund. Got my money back earlier today.

So I broke down and bought their beer barrel congress with c75 carbon steel blades & am eagerly waiting for it to come in tomorrow afternoons mail delivery. Granted I am a newb to carbon steel so naturally I'm nervous I'll ruin it somehow but still, it's the real deal and worth the money.

I just bought a Chinese tape measure from Stanley Tools of New Britain CT. It isn't just Germany.

The forum is doing strange things these days. I see a post right above this quoted post from 6:19 (my time) about a tape measure.

This particular thread has been acting strangely for me. A couple of times yesterday, it thought the "first unread post" was the very first post. It wasn't updating as new posts were added, either, at least for a while.

I noticed.
And the current response time sucks little green toads.
Spark has bought new servers and is preparing to transfer the forum to them. That should help.
He has also purchased new forum software. It's in the early stages of an upcoming transfer to a different, more robust platform. That should help more.

Money talks and deceptive, difficult to decipher, mystery laden international trade descriptions walk.
This is why I avoid most 'Germany' knives nowadays.

Speaking of the topic, I recently asked Linder about their knives. Their knives that don't state anything are made in china, while knives that have "Solingen" on the blade are made in Solingen. Talk about trap!

Sounds like quite an outlay. Thank you, Sparks.
