I just went and checked one, and it uses bronze/phosphor washers.

I wish I could say the same: mine opened easily but was a bear to close.

I spent an evening trying to break it in, but all I got was a sore thumb. The more I opened it, the harder it was to close!

I reluctantly returned it, and the dealer said I was being too picky. He had checked it before shipping, he said, and thought it opened and closed smoothly.

I wish. It's the only folder I've ever had that I was afraid to open because I wasn't sure I could get it closed again.

It's really a beautiful knife and I'm tempted to order another -- but only after my thumb heals.

I really wish I had better news to report.

Mine is super smooth as well. I wish you would've contacted me, as we could have done a replacement for you.
