Just wondering if copper would work and look ok for guard and bolster material,if so will it be bad to tarnish and hard to keep clean.

Thanks,Walter

Walter - copper is very nice looking when shiny new and also when aged. Many folks use it as bolster and guard material. It will develop a patina over time, but I think it looks fine. You could wax it to keep the aging at bay.

I have many knives with copper bolsters and/or pins. I love the stuff. I'm not sure why, I just like the way it looks with a well used patina.

I do some work with the stuff. It look great one some knives. There just something about the look of Gold. That's all. -----------:)

Thanks guys, thats what i wanted to hear,i'll be giving it a try

Thanks again, and hope all have a Happy New Year

I only used it on two knives (both for the same customer) I have to say it looked great once done. Was a bitch to drill though. It really likes to grab the drill bit, I think I broke two bits in the process of making these two knives. Had to really keep the bits clean of filings when drilling.
