Bomb proof handle scale material?

Ti, yeah not a really good handle material unless you own a cnc shop... needs to be viable and not out of this world expensive...
G10 is winning so far...

G10 hands down the strongest nonmetal handle material... Try destroy one and compare to micarta or carbon fiber and you will understand.

frn is supposed to be significantly stronger i believe... i'm not sure that it matters that much. if the micarta handle gets destroyed, pretty good chance you did first, so after a certain point its rather rediculous to need anything else.

I want a handle material that, does not soak up/stain from blood, is not going to fail in temps until the epoxy on the tang does, and is just all around hardcore. Stabilized wood?
Micarta?
G-10?
Something else?

Epoxy on the tang? Is this a fixed blade then? Forget the epoxy and pin it.

I don't own a CNC shop yet am able to work it fine. Hand saw and a file . . . normal Ol' drill bits and a hand brace or hand held electric drill.
It is viable; lots of mid priced knives come with Ti handles. (actually well bellow mid price = $300 but I just saw some for sale new for half that).
Not out of this world expensive. I see basic glue and fiber handle scales priced at $70. Can get a hunk of Ti for less than that and add some time and elbow grease. . . . and some vision and imagination.

rusty,

I hear yah
but
when I think bomb proof knife handle/scales
I am envisioning dropping the knife two stories onto concrete.
I would like to see some examples tested. I bet Ti would fair well in that case.

Surprised no one has mentioned Warwood composite. Stuff is (yes literally) bomb proof, at least from its original intended use. Warwood was reportedly the inside non metallic lining for MRAP plating, designed to defeat mine and IED blasts.

Just ordered some to try out.

I like G-10 a lot, but it will darken depending on what color you have, so maybe black G-10? FRN seems like it would be non-porous but I still like G-10 better. Titanium is a fantastic material but it is often cold to the touch, or I guess it could get very hot, depending on what you did to it.
Best of luck.
