Someone contacted me about my D2 knives and was wondering if I could do one with a bone breaker. I though this was a notch just in front of the guard. Am I wrong or does this term have different meaning to others. I know about skull crushers and other items on the cap. Also have seen a knife with a shape on top of the blade just ahead of the handle reffered to as a bone breaker. Any one here got a good definition. Thanks Jim

I think your right about the notch. Sounds like a Dark Ops knife feature.

I'd just ask for clarification.

while I would also suggest clarifying with the customer, the bone breaker is similar to the one on the coldsteel, the notch on the blade in front of the guard, I think, is commonly called a spanish notch and is used to catch and trap the opponent's blade.

Actually, the "other" type of bone breaker is frequently seen on bird-and-trout knives and is like a single large serration, frequently in the ricasso. Scroll down to "H" in this listing for a rather poor view of the idea. It is intended for removing the lower leg and feet from gamebirds. http://colincoxknives.com/Online Catalog.htm

Yup, I am going to have him clarify. I appreciate the answers. About as clear as I already was. LOL NOt. Thanks though Jim
