Just got a rough rider copperhead and I know they aren't top end knives but building a small collection of uk edc knives is it normal on bone handles for the inlay not to be flat and stick out a tiny bit? I'm assuming it's because the bone is a natural product?

Thanks

Chris

I have 2 Case knives , stag, and both inlays are different. Stag is the hardest to get perfection. I would keep it and accept the fact that stag is stag.

By "inlay" do you mean the shield? The inset piece of metal (often with a company name or logo) inset within the handle scale?

Yes, it's normal to not be perfectly levelly inset.

Yeah I will it's a fantastic knife considering it was £13.95 delivered

Thing is got the bug for traditional folders and the next one/few may be case so bit more money lol Deffo buying another rough rider though may buy a scout for the Mrs as she makes do with a vic classic sd at the moment and it's bloody tiny

Yeah the sheild thanks mate puts my mind at ease was concerned it would drop out or something not sure how they are attached but it's solid anyway

Glue. Higher quality knives will have the shields pinned through the liner.

I'd get the Mrs. a large Vic. I have the RR camper/utility/scout and the screw driver is a total nail breaker. My wife carries a Vic Climber and I carry a Vic Tinker in addition to a thumb stud/ linerlock by either Kershaw or CRKT.

Yeah I carry a large tinker at work absolutely love it people are always impressed when I service a machine and walk in with no tools pop it open using the massive ball of keys and then take out my victorinox they bring back memories for a lot of people who may have used them in scouts etc people generally love them which is strange in a society that generally demonises knives

Think I read a review that the rr screwdriver is hard to open maybe as it's a shorter spring so has less leverage ?

Sometimes my Mrs doesn't care if somethings as good functionally lol looks are everything. her favorite tool for opening boxes and food prep on the veg from sedgefield farmers market (monster veg, celeriac etc) is her magenta mora companion (I like it too even though it's pink) lol
