Bonecollector 15020

I had a BM 15030, the smaller Bonecollector. It is a well made knife with D2 blade steel. The grips were grippy enough. The frame is very similar to the BM 520 and 525.
Very little difference except for the blade. The point on the Bonecollector is more of a sheepsfoot blade to me. I really didn't care for it all that much and parted with it. Perfer thumbs studs for opening but the hole was ok. If you can maybe you can find one to handle before you buy. You might want to check out the BM 520 or 525. The only gripe I had with either one I had was the alumn. handles, real pocket eaters but the blade shape was great.

d2 is a very hard, very good steel. i didn't have problems with mine chipping. loved the stuff, probably one of benchmade's finest steels.

How would u rate the D2 steel blade?

In my uses that include skinning, cutting pipe, woodwork, cardboard, rubber, kitchen duty really good. I have a 10 degree per side (20 degree inclusive edge) and through touching up put a 20 degree per side (40 degree inclusive) micro bevel on the edge and I have by accident hit into a nail while doing woodwork. No major damage and was sharpened out. In a folder D2 is really good IMO and the only other steel I can compare it to is S30V Sebenza and both seem to hold a good edge for around the same time in my uses.

You really cant go wrong with D2 IMO. It has been around since WWII and it is still used to today. That says a lot.
