Bonecutter...customised ? Todays HIKE pics also.

Anytime I hear some idjit talking about banning that breed I put them on mental ignore and hope they don't breed. Most seam to nanny small children and they sense intention. Moral of the story, do not screw with a child when its nanny pitbull is watching. Have you seen the kids foot in the slack jawed mouth trick yet? The dog would rather choke than bite the foot!

I'll go against the grain and say leave it as is. Probably less than 100 Bonecutters out there by the Sarge, if ya know what I mean ;)

100? 50? 20? 10? not many

I think I will just remove it all the way tomorrow...hopefully, all you Sarge fans still love me tomorrow night. We will have to wait and see what kind of craftsman I am.;)

you DID say in a professional manner right? yer a professional?

yeah, that! oiy... i'd hate to see that in the woods :) go all falcata on that one.

If it's a hidden/rat tang the ring will be easier to remove.

The ring on my ASTK eats into my palm during the chopping but i opted for a glove (my palm gets extra sweaty).

If you grab it right the ring should rest after your middle finger, securing the grip.

But then again, i guess i'm a traditionalist. I wouldn't ask for a ringed handle for M-43. If i ever get one.

You've got a very nice BC there with good bevel.

Ayo Gorkhali!

Heck, it is yours so do what you want to do to it. I find some of the questions about "collector value" funny really. When I asked about sanding my Tarwar's finger grooves down my concern wasn't so much about what it was going to do to the value or it so much as whether or not I was going to be honoring Bura's wishes by doing so. I think in the end the consensus was that these folks make them to be used and if it is something that makes you use them more then do it.

As for the whole handle ring dilemma in general, I find that if you are holding the khukuri properly, they don't hurt you or make a blister but rather enhance your grip and make it a lot easier and more comfortable to retain control over the blade. Of course this assumes one has man sized hands. If one is not as well endowed as most, then I suppose said ring might become a more of burden than a blessing. :D

Right. thanks.:D

She's done, pics at the start.

Its got a hat on it. NO U.B... I hope its a Kadka, thats what I was told when I purchased it from HI.

nice work!

your BC has script on it, and a kami mark... are you sure it's a Khadka? he usually doesn't mark his at all.

Bladite

I am surprised an "Old Timer" doesn't know Khadka has a mark.

The Hat is his mark, he USUALLY doesn't mark them but he DOES have a mark and he DOES mark them occasionally.

Would you mind posting me a nice, clear picture of his mark for my collection?

One of the cool things about the original bonecutter handle was that it had rings and dips for traction but no raised pointed grooves.

Look at the handle here on the original.

Do what makes you happy with your khuk. I special ordered a foxy with an m-43 horn handle on it. Man, "Loppy" is a beauty~! :)

My Bonecutter is almost EXACTLY like yours (the bottom one) other than the fact I changed the handle...wow.
I Love the look of the original handle...looks really good.

Well, mine is alot better now, I have REALLY small hands;) and I dont know how to swing a kuk..so its a good thing I sanded my handles. :p

Thanks everyone...I love the Bonecutter, as should you.
