Okay, Pananandata ("to go to arms" or "to arms") is the FMA style taught by Amante P. Marinas whose tapes are availabe from ESPY-TV Productions. Out of print and part of the Pananandata Trilogy (Yantok at Daga, Daga, and Rope & Chain Fighting)from Paladin Press.
77 pgs. B&W pics.

Okay, this book is on Yantok (another word for rattan) and Daga (dagger) , so it's Espada Y Daga. It's been said that the Spanish sword and dagger techniques
were taken and modified by Filipino masters. This book supports this view as their are postures I haven't seen in any of the old European texts. Okay boys and girls, each sequence is done with the long and short stick for safety.

The BD
Chapter 1 Standard FMA history intro with basic weapon positions, distances, footwork
9 Sequences illustrating the Concepts

Chapter 2 Applications
9 sequences emphasizing the long stick thrust as the fight stopper
9 sequences emphasizing the dagger thrust as the fight stopper
9 sequences emphasizing the long stick strike as the fight stopper

No conclusion but a glossary of terms which always helps.

This is currently THE only text solely devoted to FMA Espada Y Daga and is the perfect companion to "Renaissance Swordsmanship" by John Clements. Get both and get your brain working. It also goes well with the Inosanto's and Sulite's books on FMA and just about any FMA video.

The only possible knock is the small photos as it is a small book. The book covers a pretty touchy subject in FMA about practicality, as different schools approach
this phase of training. Some teach it, some really cover it, some barely cover it or ignore it. People are now playing with fencing foil and dagger. Largely it's up to the instructor and student on how to approach it, do you use the short stick as a short stick or a dagger? What about the stick? Some feel that this phase not 2 swords is the hardest because you can't improvise as easily. Well, you decide if you can use it.

Smoke,

Do you know where one could pick up the rope and chain fighting book? Paladin of course, doesn't seem to have that one.
