Books on Khukries

Bill, I can't thank you enough for all the enthusiastic encouragement.
Lots of hard work, no financial reward and probably 'experts' coming out of the woodwork to point out all my misinformation. Yippeee, my kind of project!
 
That's the nature of the beast.

Nobody will bother to thank you for the 10,000 tidbits of info you have struggled for years to obtain which are correct. But the 10 tidbits that may be incorrect or questionable will get you 1,000 angry letters. And the "experts" will call you a liar and fool if they don't agree with any or all of it.

Truly, it is your kind of project -- but not mine.

I never did expect to still be around when he publishes, and, if so, wouldn't appreciate needing a "seeing eye" nurse to read it to me. Besides, I'd only look at the pctures, anyhoo :rolleyes:

...and reason this out....The Khuks on that wall are all lightweight plastic replicas. That much steel would bring down a wall of pre-stressed slab, let alone the flimsy interior wall of a California dwelling. JP's "Khukuri Wall" is just a set, left over from one of his ad campaigns :eek:

John may decide the comic book version is the way to go. I like that idea. Who is the hero? Superkami?

Wow! I thought they were all minature Ks. They look to be about 6" in OAL, just the way Tisimi likes them. :)

BTW, I just had to dust off that spot on the bookshelf that I have reserved for John's book. It's been a while; but I am sure that he will surprise us with the book soon enough.

Actually, John has his collection insured for 800,000 dollars -- not plastic replicas for the rich.
 
The truth is that they're paper cutouts, not plastic (too expensive) and they're only 4" long.

Maybe that's what the book should be...just lots of pictures that you can cut out and then make up your own history for each one.

Perhaps if you included different variations of Tsimi's "reincarnations", troglodyte that he is, along with other pics of Uncle Bill, Walosi, Rusty and others, Tsimi could pretend he has friends. A small diorama of the Cantina with a bunch of paper dolls for Tsimi.....looks like Christmas can come early. :p
