Bookshelf stereo speakers

I don't buy based on brand names, specs, or reviews. When I buy speakers, I take a bunch of favorite CDs from different artists/genres/whatever, and go to different dealers to audition everything I can find that's in my price range.
For bedroom/bookshelf speakers+powered sub, I wound up buying Infinity Reference series.
For car audio, JL Audio XR series components. Also got JL W3 series subs, but chose those separately, not because of the brand.
I bought those things years ago, and might choose different brands or models today. Don't have a system in my current truck, but when/if I get the money...
I think how we listen to, or like, our music is a very personal thing. Something like a RTA might tell you definitively how musically accurate a speaker or system is, but it doesn't take personal preference(or budget) into account.
I say buy what suits YOU:)
