I have a Tilley T5 and it's a great hat. I just spent a week rafting Desolation Canyon in Utah in 100+ degree weather with my new Riverz Scout, and I like it even better. It looks like straw, but is made of woven polypropalene "tech straw". Wide brim makes for a lot of cooling shade, lets breezes through, and comes in various styles. My brother (20+ years professional guiding) recommended the Scout, since larger brims tend to flop in high winds. Riverz also makes hats with narrower brims. One model even looks like a cowboy hat.
