Bob and the rest of the Bladeforums guys,
Thanks to Bob for commissioning this little knife. Bob's taste in traditional knives (and firearms) is very close to mine. This is the second Stag-handled piece I've done for him, and its been a pleasure all the way. Working together with a knowledgeable collector makes custom knifemaking a joy.
As to the specs; the blade is a 5"x 1 1/8", 4-bar composite, Turkish Twist wrapped in Explosion, of 1084 and 15n20, with thickness at the ricasso about 3/16". The flared guard and collar are of the same multi-bar damascus.
File-worked three-piece frame and file-worked collar spacers are 410 Stainless Steel, and the faceted domed pins are 416 S/S.
Bob supplied the beautiful, deeply figured Stag for the scales.
I'll send this off to Paul Long for a "Western" sheath, and hopefully, we'll get a photo of that, too.
Its been fun, now back to the shop!
John
