Boot Knife, how heavy is too heavy?

Hi folks,

Recently I comissioned a knife.... dagger really from my trusted blacksmith. The dagger was of my own design measuring up to 9.4 inches. The blade is slightly under 5 inches. My idea behind the design was to create a dagger with a strong tip. So the blade is slightly leaf shaped and is about 6 mm thick. The consequence, of course, is that the knife weights 9.1 oz. Is that too much for practical purposes? I have noticed that production boot knifes around that size weight much less ~5oz but usually have a needle or thin spear point blades that IMO would be prone to breaking. I have also noticed that many custom knives that are similar in size, thickness and width are in the same weight range. Would it then be, perhaps, that the weight of my dagger/ boot knife is not that unreasonable?
