Boot knife question

Been there, done that - I find it of limited functionality.

Uncomfortable unless you have the right sort of boot, and if you have your trouser leg covering the knife it makes it kinda awkward to deploy in a hurry - unless you're sitting at a card table with the hilt exposed.

If you wear long pants and want to ankle carry it's easier to deploy if you have the knife hilt down in a friction retention (kydex) sheath, but you still have to raise a leg or kneel down before you can pull the knife out

I carry a hide away knife on my bioot at work. It is great because of its small size. The sheath is laced on inbetween the tounge and the outer wall with the laces going through the sheath.
The handle just barely sticks above the boot. It is not a large knife though so it cannot do everything. But I carry it at work for a worst case senario if i am wrestling and cannot reach my gun or something. The 2 inches or so is enough for the purpose and the finger loop grip is great for holding on to the knife.

I dont really have experience with anyq other boot knives.

I once owned the smaller CS Counter Tac and did carry it inverted. That is the way to go.

I've been using that same hammer for around 7 years tearing out tile showers and floors and I cant break it.

Used to carry a Desperado.
I have to agree with what someone else said though about limited functionality and possibly awkward to deploy quickly.
But I always found it comfortable(ing) .
However as I understand it, in this state carrying a knife like this is frowned upon, so I stopped doing it.

Well I tend to put the Tenacious in the boot and attach it with the pocket clip. More because of the sheeple and shiny pocket clip

There is one situation when a boot knife is extremely easy to access quickly, and its when you are at your most vulnerable. I can't speak for anyone else, but when I'm forced to use a public restroom the handle of my boot knife sticking out is very comforting.
