Boot knives and Small fixed blades, Lets see'em

Just bought a Spartan Blades Enyo Inside Waist Band/Neck Knife Black. I might buy two more of these. They look like a great carry knife. I'll know whether I'll buy 2 more when I get it in hand in a few days.

I have one. It is a great little knife for edc. Truth be told is the grind is abit thick. Supposedly the knife was designed for agents in iraq who wanted a small concealable knife where it wouldn’t be obvious they were wearing one. The idea being for certain duties where one had to sort of be dressed up the enyo would be easily concealed.

That said the knife honestly provides very little protection against someone’s hand sliding up onto the blade when thrusting. The only way I might feel safe thrusting would be thumbcapping the knife in reverse grip edge out.

Thanks, I edc one myself. The design came from me whittling my way down to the size, geometry, and features of the smallest knife I'd want available to me, even in or perhaps especially a very deteriorated urban environment after several years of living covertly on streets of large cities as an orphaned teen back in the 80s.

I took a hard look at my collection and found a lack of knives below 3.5 inches, and am buying to fill in between 1 inch and 3.5 inches in blade length. These are my real EDC knives and I use them every day. I have a few but what I like is doubling or tripling them up so that when I carry I have 2 or 3 that are exactly the same.

Yes. I read your statement regarding your early life. My mom had a rough go of it too. I fear falling through the cracks as I get older. I've been in the position of living in a car for up to a year in the Silicon Valley area around 2002. I was forced to bathe in the creeks around La Honda and the Pacific Ocean through the regions Fall and Winter. An employer stiffed me on $35,000 and shut their doors. It was rough, but now I know that nothing short of death will stop me.

I wish you nothing but the best.

A lot of us here have had some experiences with it, I know several other friends here who have as well, in one way or another. As children or adults, and some both. The first months I was on the streets at 16 it was like a long nightmare of sorts, and I was pretty angry about it. But after that I was too busy trying to help other kids on the streets, sometimes ones younger than I and sometimes just less well prepared to look after themselves. Once I started feeling responsible for those kids I started taking my own safety a lot more seriously. On the streets, the only way to avoid drawing unwanted attention is to go as gray as possible, blend in at least marginally, and look like you have nothing of any interest on you at all.

Thank you, I wish the same back to you

I have been carrying the new TT as a sort of boot knife a lot lately, sometimes down in my knee high snake boots, and hadn't even thought about that since I am using it for a couple of articles I am writing and can't share any of the pics I've taken for those. Just yesterday I was holding it after pulling it out of my pocket, looking at it wishing Bill would design a somewhat smaller knife of the same style, 1 inch shorter blade and 5/8 inch or so shorter handle. Maybe call it a TG (tactical guppy) :)
