Heck,I`ll try again.Boots and, Sixguns and Stetsons and the Lilys grow high. They grow for a man with a gun throwing hand, who before his time must die. They grow in the trail he has travelled,a trail well spattered with lead. They weep for the many, many, men,the men who are now dead. Actually,I deleted this.My best friend is Samual Colt. The polished sixgun that I tote. And he`s always around when I need him most.

Not feeling Buddhist today.

I'm not Buddhist, GhostSix, but I pick up bits and pieces of it from various sources. This short lesson is passed on by Joseph Campbell: "Once a Zen master stood up before his students and was about to deliver a sermon. And just as he was about to open his mouth, a bird sang. And he said, 'The sermon has been delivered.'" I'd say it's not easy for any of us to live up to our beliefs 100% of the time. If the song isn't in you today, perhaps tomorrow it will return. And if the song isn't in you now, maybe it is all around you.

Maybe the lesson is that of the old west: High Noon didn't happen hardly ever.

The ones who lived took out their opponents when they were staggering home at 3 AM in the morning drunk as a skunk, in a dark alley, from behind cover, without warning, in the back, with both barrels of a shotgun.

Then again, maybe not.

That is not true. There plenty of documents of fair fights. The most documenented was the fight at the OK corrall. There was a trial, and news coverage. What I remembered, was that Wyatt ignored Billy Clanton, who was firing on him,and took out Frank Mc Lowery.a dangerous man,who was drawing a rifle.I call that keeping your priorities straight.

OTOH, a couple guys suspected of involvement in death of Wyatt's other brother later, up and disappeared without a trace, oddly at a time Wyatt happened to be seen in the area. Am doing this from memory, if anyone has better recollection please correct errors.

If you haven't heard, Ghost, your best friend's manufacturer will no longer sell to the public ( except SAA and 1911 Gov't as collectors items per one report ). It's consumer sales stop as of October 31,99.

Mourn for our nation.

Ivy Mike,no one wants you to be a boddhihst,I doubt that the Buddah would capilalize it,we would like you to be a good person,in you own way.Pardon the old spelling from the bodi tree.I just love esoterica.

I appreciate the thought, Ghostsix. And for my further edification, I must ask: what is the bodi tree? (I hope you don't mind me using your khukuri forum for a little education, Uncle Bill).

Mike,

The historical Buddha was enlightened under a bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya, India. (It wasn’t called that then.) Currently there is a stupa there with a grandson of the original tree nearby. It is a majestic old tree. Many pilgrims go to Bodh Gaya to see it and perform devotions.

Thanks Howard and Bill. Yes, I do come here for more than the khukuris. It's a very enlightening forum, so to speak. And such a great bunch of dudes... I mean guys.
