What kind of boots do you wear?

I recently bought some Clarks Acadia model boots and, so far, I am happy with them.

The make a good "civilianized" alternative to my Danner Ft. Lewis "Go Devil" boots.

So what boots do you wear?

Cheers,
Allen.

I have a pair of Asolo hiking boots that my sister gave me a few years back. I wear them almost eveyday. Feel great and look good. I've walked over a big chunk of San Diego with these things.

Irish Setter Tracker Boots.I had them for a day before I left on a 50+ km hike and I didn't get one blister or callouse the whole time. They're waterproof, light and comfortable. The best boots I have ever had.

After break in (wearing them soaked for a ten mile hike  ).

I let them dry and seam seal all the seams and joints with seam grip.

This provides protection for the seams so they dont wear. I also put a
coating on the entire toe surface for protection.

I then cover the heated up boot in either Biwell or Snowseal.

This has always worked for me and my feet never got sweaty and stayed dry like rubber boots. Not to mention the boot is preserved and lasts much longer too.

I would at least seam grip all your stitches and joints. Warning, it doesn't make them look perfect with a coating on them.

I ditched gortex years ago as gortex works for some people but me it rotts my feet as I find them way too warm.

Never had a leak and stand in ankle deep water all the time.

Great boots too bad Merrell don't make them any more. My only beef with them is you cant resole them as far as I know.

Redwing Work boots. Have had them fer 4 years. Walk in them fer 12 hours a day no blisters no uncomfortable feet, great suport in my ankles. and i have used them to walk a six mile walk. I will never buy a nother brand of boot. These are my everyday boot to. no more shoes.

Danner Pronghorn: hunting, hiking, all around boot, most comfortable boot I have ever worn. Compared to Red Head, Irish Setter, Rockies.....as far as hunting and hiking goes Danner has em beat for comfort, time will tell for durability.

Red Wing Hiking Boots. They are about the only shoe that comes in a size wide enough for my foot. The only problem with them, which is really a problem with my foot, is that my heel is too narrow and I get blisters. But I get blisters on my heel wearing any shoe.

I would recommend Red Wings for anyone. Great shoes with great service.

altama ripple sole boots

One thing I have found with those vs. regular jungles that have been resoled is that due to the amount of cushion under the whole foot, you are way off the ground with them. I almost twisted ankles with my set quite a bit and that’s something I never do so they went by by.
