Here's a 3 part youtube series I just finished on how to carve a simple...very simple wooden spoon. It would turn out better if I was a better carver...it's a rather spartan creation compared to some of the nicer works I've seen.

Part 1 -getting the basic spoon frame from raw timber

Part 2 rounding out the frame

Part 3:
carving out the bowl with a hook knife:

No offense if it's too much of a commitment to sit through...If I had a video camera rather than just a digital camera I'd be able to pause and fit it all into one 10 min vid.. also I spend allot of time yapping

great stuff Riley... i recently scored a crook knife.. i love it..

i'm really digging your video's man...:D

Thanks mike.. I do appreciate that... wish my spoons came out as nice as your stuff, but that'll come with time I suppose.. also the 12 cups of coffee I drink a day probably don't help my hands shake like a craked out chiuhaha LOL....
I Know most of my vids are pretty boring for allot of the wilderness buffs we have around here, but they are designed for beginners..I started going out bushcrafting with guys from work (the bushcraft bums) Some of these guys had never been camping before, So seeing something as simple as sparking a ferro rod to them was mysterious and alien.. so it's more tailored for folks like that.. and also its a great excuse for me to practice and stay motivated to keep learning.
