I was looking to buy one of Tony or Reese Bose knives and the ones i could find are between $2000 and $3300 that is insane! I know they make a flawless knife. Are the dealers making a huge profit? I called and talked to Reese nice guy to talk with(btw) and put an order in, 5 year wait and quoted price of $895.

I talked to Tony about pricing five years ago at BLADE, when I saw people winning his knife drawing and flipping it for hundreds or thousands of dollars profit. A knife on his table was marked $1295, someone won it in the drawing and immediately sold it to a dealer for a couple thousand, and the dealer resold it for a nice profit. I asked Tony why he didn't just sell them for more himself, since the market would bear it. He said he made a good knife to sell at a fair price, and what the resellers did afterward was their business, not his. Boses are just good folks.

Inanimate objects are difficult to value. To a knut, $895 + 5 years for a Bose is a great deal. To a non-knut, $89.50 for the same Bose would be "Whaaat^&*????!, are you insane?" Human nature and economics always make sense.

Sorry, this doesn't belong in the Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades sub-forum. Moving to Feedback.
