I didn't own a proto, but this edge is beautiful. Its not obtuse at all. This zero edge is perfect for the size knife it is. The stock is a good thickness. Once this thing is stripped I'd have no problem with it in the kitchen. It feel very quick and light.

I hope to have some LE's today too but my mailman isn't as fast as yours. Congrats!

interesting,,ive never seen a le that says "custom" on it ??
hows the thickness of the handles? do they feel thin?

I would love one of these. I will probably regret going for the MuckLE instead of grabbing one of these in the long run. Pretty classic design!
 
Wow- that is really fast. Thx for taking the pics guys. Nice to see the real thing. Also wondering about the "custom" Anyway-gratz on the blades.

I can't find my calipers right now but a rough guess is about .65-.7" thick at the palm swell. The handle doesn't feel thin at all but it would feel better if it was a little thicker.
I prefer thick grips, however, for my hand. This will definitely get used :D

Ok, just found the calipers. The handle is 0.715" at the palm swell and the blade is 0.178"
 
Mine got here 30 minutes ago, right before I had to drive to the office. It is an LE (#16) with Orange/Black G-10 handles and a choil. Turned out great! Photos will be taken over the weekend.

forager, may I trouble you for a side view to see the slabs' thickness in relation to the spine/tang? ...I've been wondering about the issue of thickness, myself. :)

BTW, You just made me really happy with these pix, thanxx! ...I ordered BCM for my user designated #27's and I like how this looks! :thumbup:

That's exactly what I would have gotten if I had a little extra cash. Great choice.
 
I was late.
Just ordered my Jack LE today...shipping in 6 weeks, but I'll have my tax refund by then!

Those look like some sweet blades.

How does the BJ handle compared to the SJTAC?
